Meet Biochar – Dan Hettinger, Living Web Farms

Get Off the Grid Fest would like to welcome Biochar – Dan Hettinger, Living Web Farms!

Dan works with Living Web Farms, a non-profit organic farm, dedicated to sharing pathways to resilience through education, research and community action. Dan leads the Living Web Farms’ biochar facility, where the crew develops appropriate technology for closing waste streams and maximizing small farm efficiency. While continually producing high quality biochar soil amendments from local sawmill waste, their latest projects are centered around farm scale plastic recycling combined with improved carbon negative energy and biochar production systems. Additionally, Dan leads various sustainable technology workshops for Living Web Farms and helps to organize the WNC Repair Cafe program.  Dan will be speaking on biochar on 1:30 on Saturday in the Workshop tent. http://livingwebfarms.org
