Warren Wilson will be offering an hour long tour of the college’s farm during Get Off The Grid Fest.
The farm has been in operation since 1894 when Warren Wilson started out as a high school for boys. Now, 125 years later, students at the college still tend and steward the land, which has been in continual cultivation since 1894.
The 300 acre diversified farm system with grass-fed beef and pastured pork and poultry is cultivated using regenerative agriculture techniques. Warren Wilson’s Farm won an award for the #1 College farm in the country It is also a Certified River Friendly Farm, meaning that the agriculture practices are waterway friendly and contribute to the health of the river rather than detract from it. https://www.warren-wilson.edu/farm/
